University Publishing Projects (U.P.P.) Ltd is a private company founded in 1970. Its major shareholder is Mr. Nathan Eden, who is actively involved in the management of the company as are the second generation of the family, Mr. Uzi Eden – marketing manager; Ms. Daphne Eden – operations manager and For the past 40 years the company has specialized in publishing ELT materials for the Israeli market. Its text books are approved by the Israeli Ministry of Education for use throughout the education system from elementary school to the completion of the matriculation certificate levels. The company also produces enrichment materials such as readers and special materials for different levels of remedial reading work.
Its products have a reputation for being visually attractive as well as being of the highest pedagogical quality. This is due not only to the expertise of the pedagogical team of writers and advisors, but also because members of the team still take an active part in teaching and teacher training are thus very close to their target audience.
English teaching in Israel has undergone many changes during the past 35 years. Accordingly, the U.P.P. team has gained valuable experience in analyzing a national curriculum in order to create textbooks and other relevant materials and teaching aids for all k-12 age groups that reflect the requirements of that curriculum.
U.P.P. is now looking to expand its activities overseas taking advantage of its geographical centrality, its team of native English speakers from a variety of English speaking countries (including South Africa), and its long years of accumulated experience in ELT material development.
The company is interested in making contacts with educational publishers, distributors and Education Ministry officials to discuss possible avenues of cooperation.
